About Us
Vehicle scrappage programs have been in operation in Canada since 1996. The objective is to remove vehicles from the road that are 1995 and older since they produce significantly higher vehicle emissions levels. Vehicles manufactured in 1996 and newer were subject to much more stringent emissions standards.
By removing older vehicles, encouraging alternate forms of transportation and vehicle replacement with newer, less polluting vehicles, there will be a reduction in vehicle emissions. The national vehicle recycling program is called Retire Your Ride (www.retireyourride.ca) is funded by the Government of Canada and coordinated by the Clean Air Foundation. Like Bye Bye Beaters in Manitoba, there are participating vehicle recycling programs operating in each province. Veuillez visitez le site Web www.adieubazou.ca pour de plus amples renseignements.
